DIY Letter Frames

17 Feb

I was looking for a gift for a friend and stumbled across these frames that had letters on the glass and fancy paper underneath and I thought perfect!  But of course, I could do that myself!  So off I went to IKEA to get some cheapo frames, and then I sat down and worked out my own version of letter frames.  This isn’t quite a tutorial, but I’ll tell you how I made them.

I first cut out some black letters out of cardstock on my Cricut.  Then I sprayed the front of the letters with some spray adhesive.  I adhered the glass (aka IKEA plastic)  to the letters and smoothed them out.  Next, I cut out some nice patterned paper to fit the back of the frame.  When it’s all put together it looks something like this.  I just wish I had chosen some other way to adhere the letters to the glass.  The spray adhesive I bought looked a little like silly string.
